The Oscars Blew Me Away!

I won't lie, when I heard Hugh Jackman was hosting the 2009 Oscars I was a bit skeptical about how they would turn out, not that I have anything against Hugh (I love him!), it's just normally the people who host the Oscars are top notch comedians or actors that are well known for their humor, so really I would of never paired Hugh with the Oscars, that is until I watched them tonight! I think Hugh was wonderful and that's coming from someone who sadly missed a big part of the show (I had forgotten they were on tonight lol). I enjoyed how he was able to throw his musical background into the mix and make this year's Oscars the most musically enjoyable to date! I especially enjoyed the number he did along side Beyonce, it was so qwirky and funny how they performed a ton of famous songs from musicals in a combo. I posted the best video I could find online of the performance below, enjoy it! :)

I was also very happy to see Kate Winslet win Best Performance by an Actress she deserves it so much! And her speech was so beautiful I love the way she expresses herself, lol and her father's whistle was hilarious! Here's the video of her acceptance speech...

THE WINNERS OF THE NIGHT WERE:

(Note to self: I need to watch The Reader, Doubt, Slumdog Millionaire, Vicky Cristina Barcelona, and Milk.)

My Picks For Fall Fashion 2009

WILLIAM RAST

Justin Timberlake's fashion line caught my eye this season because of its punk essence. I loved the blacks, the greys, the blazers, the acid washed and ripped jeans. But most importantly I loved the studded leather jacket, I want one lol and the shoes with the fringes are very very CALIENTE!!!! I would love me a pair of those too! :)

TROVATA

Trovata won me over with their green shawl peacoat looking piece, I absolutely loved it. I like how they layered their pieces even using vests and sweaters mixed with pants tucked into boots. I really love that look with the tied up boots, its very ME! lol

CALVIN KLEIN

Calvin did it up with full sophistication as always. Very sexy long coats and one colored suits. Some what 'Matrix-ish', Neo move out of the way, tehre is a new man in town and his name is CK. lol I really enjoyed these pieces specially the one with the nylon coat!

Z ZEGNA

As you can see I really liked Z Zenga. This was the first time I heard of this designer and I have to say I fell quickly Everythign from the hats to the coats to the jackets with the studs and the belted peacoat, the pants, and the suit where the top is all tucked away into the pants really caught my eye as something I'd like to rock! Good job Z Zenga, you have a fan in me!!

Music For My Pensive Sunday.

Sara Bareilles' Gravity has got to be one of my favorite songs of all time. And now finally there is a music video to it! Very beautiful song, beautiful lyrics and beautiful singing!!
Miley Cyrus has never been a favorite of mine but with this new song for the Hannah Montana Movie, she proves a more mature sound. The song is just very enlightening and I have become a little fascinated and empowered by it, thus its name The Climb lol.

"Don't Forget"

Don't Forget is a music video/short film I made to Demi Lovato's song by the same name. The film revolves around a young guy who has recently lost a love of 3 or so years and is going through the downside of pain and loneliness. I'm very proud of how it turned out, so I just wanted to share it with all of you through my blog, hope you all enjoy it!

Such Peaceful Harmony!

I'm here on my computer listening to "House of Cards" by Radiohead as I am typing up this blog. It's been a pretty gloomy yet peaceful day. Not that I am sad or anything, but the weather is in between cloudy and rainy (if that's even a word lol). It's great for pondering about things, I've been thinking a lot about the day I move out lately. About what my place will look like and what my life will be like then. Where will I be working? Will I be romantically involved and if so will that person be spending the night often? Will I be able to afford furniture? Will it be a tiny efficiency or a big condo shared with roommates?...who knows!! For now I just want to do my best to make it a reality, I'd be extremely happier living on my own and feeling as if I am providing for myself and being independent and grown up. Gosh, I turn 20 this month?...Earlier it kinda hit me, I was editing my flickr profile and I realized in the little description I had written of myself it still said "I am 18" lol talk about delayed, and as I went to edit it I realized "Why put 19?....I'm going to be 20 in about about 20 days" O_O lol The big 2-0, the transition from teenager to young adult, it's okay though, I really don't feel as if I'm getting older lol and that's probably because a part of me has always been somewhat more mature than my age (even though I do have my childish moments), but for the most part I tend to be pretty mature, at least I'd hope I am lol, I say that because of what people tell me and that is that they sometimes forget my age because I come off older, It's like there's a viejo (means 'old man' in Spanish) trapped inside of me lol. Well the viejo is off to try and be productive and get some stuff done, hey.....I just noticed the sun is shinning through my window. Yay! :) looks like it might not be raining after all. Well take care guys, until next time! <3

The Unforbidden Fruit.

The before.

And the after.

I think it came out pretty good, what do you think of it?
